Sara Rose's Aid with ALS
Spende geschützt
Hello Good People, Tj Teding here, and I am in hopes of immediate relief for my beloved Auntie Sara! Auntie Sara is one of the most fun-loving, kind-hearted, sweetest humans to ever walk the Earth. You know the saying, "wouldn't hurt a fly?" Well she'd actually hurt the person who hurt the fly! To this very day she has reminded me to be kind, noble, and to love unconditionally. Auntie Sara's personality is super warming and inviting and anyone who truly knows her would agree that to know her is to adore her!
Auntie Sara is the youngest of my Dad's two sisters. During my childhood I remember vividly the days that we all stayed at my Grandparents' home in Vallejo, California. My parents were separated so whenever I was on my Dad's time I would love hanging out with Auntie Sara! She's unknowingly funny and she's more like a big sister to me than anything. Remember the Blockbuster & Hollywood Video days? Well when Friday evenings came around during this era, Auntie Sara and I would faithfully take trips to the Movie rental store and get at least 2 scary movies and a happy movie. Her theory was that as long as we fall asleep to something happy, we wouldn't have any nightmares lol. This has became one of our lifelong memories and tradition, she will forever be my #1 scary movie partner!
As life progressed the Teding siblings branched out, each embarking on family journeys of their own- but the love between all remained the same! My relationship with Auntie Sara has always been and still is as genuine as can be. I honestly believe that ninety-eight percent of the time that we interact, we're either smiling or laughing with each other. There aren't many moments that I can recall us being sad or crying together, but maybe twice- once about 16 years ago when my Mom passed away and I received a comforting hug from Auntie Sara for the first time; and the second time being about a month ago when we received devastating news, but this time it was I that held her as tight as possible to comfort her tears of distress.
On July 20th, 2018, Auntie Sara was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). For those who are unsure, ALS is a also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, it's a progressive wasting away of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal column that control the muscles that allow movement. Over a period of months or years, ALS causes increasing muscle weakness, inability to control movement, and problems with speaking, swallowing, and breathing (Stanford Health Care, 2018). While the cause of ALS is unknown and there is no cure, we are striving to keep my Auntie Sara's spirit high and maintain her strength and Independence for as long as possible!
With TIME being very critical, action must be taken immediately! For as long as I can remember, Auntie Sara has been smiling. Please help me provide that delightful smile throughout the transition of this journey. This platform will contribute in many ways; Medical & hardware assistance, Home aid modifications, and ultimately less worry of expenses and more focus on Family time! Join #TeamSaraRose as we fight this battle together!
Sincerely,
TJ Teding
