San Juan Del Sur Rugby Union

In 2013 several wandering expats from Australia, France, and USA started teaching local San Juan del Sur athletes the game of rugby. This progressed into training on the beach and finally the San Juan Del Sur Pirates.
In just a few years the Piratas grew from a handful of players to a full blown phenomenon. The Piratas compete in 7's, 10's and 15's.  The Pirates have won several Nicaraguan 7's league championships. In 2017 we plan to form a women's 7s team. We are not only bringing development in the form of adult teams, but also, teaching in local children's schools.

Players from all around the world have come to train on the beach and play in matches with us. Ruggers from Canada, Holland, Fiji, Ireland, Wales, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Italy, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Spain, and Japan have hit the fields and playas as Pirates. We are truly an international club with Nicaraguan roots.

Recently, San Juan Rugby has joined three other Nicaraguan teams to create a National 15s team. Seven Pirates travel to Guatemala on December 9th to play against a Guatemala side. 

There is a lot of potential within the Pirates, but we need your help to take the club to the next level.

Player Registration - $40 x 25 = $1000
New Jerseys for San Juan A - $20 x 25 players= $500
Transport for the 2 teams- $200 x 10 games = $2000
New Boots - $20 x 15 players = $300
National Team Fees - $250 X 8 players = $2000
