On April 24th, at the young age of 29, Samantha Wissinger was tragically taken from us. She was truly a warrior at heart and knew pain and suffer more than most of us. For three years, she had been a survivor of stage 3 breast cancer and was battling stage 4 leptomeningeal carcinomatosis when she fell ill with COVID-19. She was taken to Troy Beaumont Hospital where she was placed on life support and later developed complications. She is survived by her loving husband Markus, Her parents Pam and Larry, and her best friend of over 20 years Samantha, amongst the countless other family and friends.
Samantha had a big heart and loved to take care of others. She spent all of her professional life in health care, starting as a CNA at Autumnwood in Deckerville and working her way to an RN at Troy Beaumont where she worked up until the final months of her life when cancer made it too difficult.
In the summer of 2019, Samantha married the love of her life at the romantic Cheekwood Estates in Tennessee and had plans to travel the country on a bus they were renovating. Her warm-hearted nature left her incline to make sure she had extra sleeping arrangements for anyone who wanted to come and visit while they were on the road. In her spare time, she loved to foster kittens, craft, go to thrift stores, and spend time with her loved ones. Her bright smile, cheeriness, and loud and infectious laugh could light up any room. She was a beautiful, warm, and compassionate woman who could truly touch anyone she spoke with.
Samantha’s sudden passing reminds us to cherish time with our loved ones and to provide support in times of need. For Samantha’s family, that time is now. We all feel so helpless, as do many of you, and want a way to help. Alleviating the burden of added financial stress is one thing we can help with. We understand that these can be difficult times for many of us and we appreciate anything you feel you can contribute.
100% of the funds collected will go directly to the family to cover any expenses that may come up during this difficult time.
