Sam and Erin's Fire Fund

Donation protected
My name is Liz Schroeter. I live in Roseville in Northern California. My niece and her husband ( Sam and Erin Edwards) just lost their home in Santa Rosa, CA  early in the morning of Oct. 9, 2017. They are one of the many victims of the fires in that area. They just got married in Aug and were starting their new life together.  Last night a neighbor alerted them they needed to get out. They escaped just in time with their dogs and the clothes they were wearing.  So, their immediate needs are clothing and everyday essentials like tooth brushes and shampoo and all those things we all take for granted. They need to get dog food as well.  They both have jobs but need to buy clothes before they can show up to work.
They are grateful to have made it to safety and are in a state of shock at this time.
If you would like to look up info on the fire it is the Tubbs Fire. There are several in the area with different names.

This is something that Erin wrote about the events of her day. In it she mentions that her parents house was also in danger but although they were surrounded by fire their house was saved. They live in Glen Ellen, CA.   It is so strange to have a family with 2 homes miles apart that have been affected by the Sonoma county fires.

Erin posted this to Facebook:

I have never seen anything like what I witnessed tonight. Truly apocalyptic. Driving out of our road and seeing it on fire... I am so thankful my friends, family, and dogs are safe. Hoping we have a home to go back to tomorrow.

Update 9am: We made it to Freestone with our dogs, cars, and the clothes on our backs. Headed to Glen Ellen to see if there's anything we can do to help my parents home stay standing. There's little hope for our home.

Update 2:30pm: we made it to Glen Ellen and met up with my dad. Their house is standing. Glen Ellen is still here. The market and all downtown buildings seem fine.

4:45pm update....it's all gone.

She is referring to her home.

I know they will be extremely grateful for any help you can give them to get back on their feet and back to work.
