Saleh Family Fundraiser

Donation protected
This fundraiser is being created in direct response to the recent San Francisco Chronicle
article, which featured the Saleh Family. After escaping the U.S.-backed war in Yemen, the Salehs relocated to the Tenderloin neighborhood in San Francisco. After fighting for six weeks for their 10-year-old daughter Raghad's visa to be approved (while she stayed with strangers in Egypt) they were reunited. In September of 2021, Raghad was attacked while walking to school. The money raised will be used to help the family however they see fit, but their ultimate goal is to move into a "bigger apartment in a safer neighborhood."

This fundraiser has been created by Christy Shirilla, the Director of Community Organizing and Resident Voice at the Tenderloin Community Benefit District.
