SAIPAN STRONG (Typhoon Yutu)
Donation protected
Our tiny tropical island of Saipan battled a Category 4 Typhoon three years ago. We were SAIPAN STRONG. We rebuilt and overcame the powerful storm that left our island desolate and without power and water for four months. Many of you donated your money to help the island rebuild.
Yesterday, Super Typhoon Yutu crashed into Saipan like a roaring train, crashing plane & massive wall of wind & rain. For hours people hunkered down in their houses and shelters waiting for this literally living hell to be over. Typhoon Yutu hit at midnight. The sounds of crashing glass, howling winds, snapping trees and driving rains were horrific. Parents protected their children while trying to also save themselves. Lots of prayers were said and answered that dark night.
It is morning. The storm has past. The sun is up & the devastation is boundless. Where to start? My friend "Jane", her husband & their two brown haired, bright-eyed daughters ages 9 & 13 now have a home with no roof & no walls. All of their belongings are destroyed. Jane cried, "Where did my beautiful home go?" These are photos of her house now.
Please join with us in sending aid to Saipan to help them rebuild once again, continue on with daily life & stay SAIPAN STRONG!
My name is Crystal Pierson and I am a missionary dentist who practiced at the Saipan Seventh-day Adventist Clinic from 2005-2018. These funds will specifically go towards rebuilding our church members and clinic staff's homes that were demolished during the typhoon. Thank you!
