New Socks for the Homeless: Saije

Donation protected
Scroll down for press, my blog about the people that have benefited from this project, to become a volunteer, and a few important facts that everyone should know.

Background:
I have given brand new socks to the homeless during the winter months for seventeen years.

I want to do more. I want to make this a national event that happens every winter. I want to inspire others to do the same within their own communities. I want to have so many socks that I need a distribution center that rivals the largest retailers. I want to wake up every morning knowing that I am making a difference to someone in need.

Most people are uncomfortable donating to an individual person that is not an established non-profit organization.  Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust that there are people in the world that want to help others without profiting from it.  The only profit I receive is gratitude from the people that need our help to be a little warmer while they face another night without shelter.

100% of the money you donate will be used for the purchase of brand new socks (I do not hand out any previously used socks).

If you are unable to donate money perhaps there is something else that you can do to assist. Scroll down to the volunteer link. Please complete the form and I will contact you.

Please share this link with your friends on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and anywhere else that you can think of that will help to spread this mission of compassion.

Please Note:

Many people have requested my mailing address so they can send socks to me instead of donating money.  Although I appreciate the offer I must decline.
I prefer to purchase the socks personally so that I am able to manage how many socks I have within my limited storage space.
