Safe Camping

Recently our local homeless shelter closed forever. The closing left disabled and vulnerable individuals sleeping in the creeks and other places not meant for people to live. It's illegal to camp or be homeless and on the streets in this community, so people are risking getting cited for trying to find a place to rest and just "be."
Our group has been working together to find some immediate assistance for our homeless citizens, and is working to find safe places until we can place individuals into permanent housing. Our focus, and current attempt is to help individuals who are in need of permanent solutions stay out of jail and the hospital while there are no other options available.
Camping at the lake or in a private campground is our short term solution for these people in need. We have sites that we're trying to fund and then the other needs are camping gear; tents, sleeping bags, lanterns, etc...
