Keep People without Homes Safe and Warm

Donation protected
Winter can be life-threatening for those without housing. Hypothermia and frostbite are real possibilities. Infections caused by skin being exposed to water for long periods of time can turn septic. We supply outdoor pantries with dry socks and shoe covers, handwarmers, space blankets and tarps, and other necessities, such as high-calorie foods and PPE. Our goal is to reach at least 300 residents this winter.

In an ideal world, everyone would have access to housing, or at least warm environments. But, warming centers are not always open, and fill quickly, especially now, when capacity is limited by covid. Sometimes, it can be difficult just to get to these centers.

To reach our goal, we need to raise approximately $3,000, and we hope to raise even more. Every dollar will increase the number of people that we can keep warm and safe. All donations go to supplying the pantries; we are a volunteer organization and do not use the funds raised for any overhead costs.

Our campaign will run from November through February. So, I hope you won’t mind if I remind you on a regular basis of our needs. We’ll also be providing regular updates regarding how many people have been helped, and what items we’ve been able to provide.

If you are local to the Eugene area, direct donations of food and winter gear to the pantries are always needed. Just visit any of our pantries to drop off items.
