Safe heat source for a family

Hello.

This page has been created to organize funds for a family with an infant in Athens county without a safe and effective heating source in their home. The goal is to provide the family with the funds necessary to pay for the tank rental, installation fee, and popane to carry them safely until mid May. Any additional funds will go to help with everyday basic needs, which are substantial. This family has been struggling with keeping up with expenses and is not eligible for various kinds of aid for this particular need.

I do not personally known this family, but was made aware of them and their situation when a group of local mothers (including myself) recently provided some household essentials for the mother and infant. I believe communities such as ours can make a tangible difference in people’s lives by pooling resources. Donations in small amounts from many people can be transformative. The simple act of giving is powerful.

A BIG  thank you to Airclaws who has generously and graciously agreed to install a thermostat and get the inside of the home ready for gas completely free of charge.

A 500 gallon tank installation and gas will cost approximately $950. I have set the fund goal at $1500 to provide some cushion for unexpected costs. If we do not raise the full amount, the funds will still be directed to the family for basic needs.
