Love for Colin, Lindsay & the Boys

Spende geschützt
Dear Friends & Family,

We are writing in regards to our brother, Colin Walsh who passed away on January 3rd, 2016 at the young age of 36 years old.  Colin was the strongest person we knew and showed his strength on a daily basis during his five year battle with stage four colon cancer.   Since his diagnosis in March 2011, Colin attempted every known treatment option available to him, whether it was surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or clinical trials.

Colin is survived by his wife of ten years, Lindsay and his two boys, 4 year old Carter and 2 year old Grayson.  During Colin's five year fight his dedication to his family and friends was unwavered with his ongoing determination to attend every family function, party or get together even when his body told him not to attend.  That was just the type of person Colin was, he always putting others before himself; a perfect example was every time we called Colin to see how he was feeling, he would answer with his typical response of "I'm okay, how are you doing".    When most of us would have a pity party for ourselves, Colin never got depressed or angry about having cancer, when asked he would say "What am I suppose to do, I don't have time to be depressed or angry, I have to beat this for Lindsay and my boys."  It was that determination for Lindsay and the boys that pushed Colin thru all the hours, days, months and years of treatments that would have broken a normal person's spirits.  We believed that by his attitude alone Colin could beat his cancer, but like most of the amazing people that are diagnosed with this unforgiving disease, Colin eventually lost his battle with cancer.

Colin's health greatly deteriorated at the beginning of November 2015.  However, even with his health failing Colin's spirit willed his body to hold on thru the holidays and he was able to spend Thanksgiving with his extended family and Christmas at home with Lindsay and the boys.  Even when Colin's body started to fail him and would ultimately have him admitted him into the hospital, Colin's spirit and normal wonderful personality were still prevalent in the hospital.  In his last days in the hospital Colin was seen assuring people that everything would be okay, joking with his buddies that now someone else could win fantasy football and making us promise to look after Lindsay and the boys.

Colin was the best brother, friend and human being we ever knew.  Based on the huge number of people that have reached out to us wanting to show their support for Colin and his family, we have decided to repost this fundraiser.  While many of us don't have the words to express how deeply saddened we are by Colin's passing, we believe that we can show Colin how much we loved him by fulfilling one of his last wishes of taking care of his family. I know Colin would truly be appreciative of any support for his family, whether it be emotional or financial.

Please pass this along to anyone you think would be interested in helping relieve some stress from this young family in their time of need.

Thank you for all of the love and support. Please continue to pray for Colin, Lindsay, Carter and Grayson.

Always,
Owen & Kristin Walsh
