Ramadan Appeal For Helping Families In Afghanistan

The Prophet (SAW) said; "Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person" (Tirmidhi) 

This Holy Month of Ramadan, one-third of the population in Afghanistan, will be facing food shortages and are unable even to break their fast with a loaf of bread. Due to the corona virus outbreak, families can't buy simple necessities as food prices are on the rise, making it harder for families to feed themselves. As the government has put lockdowns on business and movement, many people are losing their jobs and don't have a source of income. Before the pandemic, estimated around 5.26 million children require humanitarian support making the country a dangerous place for children. Many charities are helping support families in need, ORDA is too. 

Who Are We?
The Organization for Relief & Development of Afghanistan (ORDA) is a Canadian registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of Afghan people.

What Is Our Motive?
Our motive is this Ramadan we would like to help the needy citizens of Afghanistan and provide them with enough food for their families to just put a smile on their face despite the current situation. 

What We Have Done So Far
ORDA has provided families in Afghanistan with tools to help them grow and grow future generations. ORDA has supported over 200 refugee families with fruit trees that were distributed in the poorest locations. The recipients were also provided with tool kits for the rebuilding of their homes. In addition, ORDA's poultry training and distribution project allowed the beneficiaries to learn how to take care of their chickens through one-week training. They learned skills in egg marketing, feeding and watering chickens. ORDA has also built a school for children to gain and expand their knowledge and to help them through every phase of their lives. Our team would like to build more schools to expand Afghans' knowledge and ensure that everyone will receive an education.

How We Do It
Our aid programs are either carried out by ourselves or we fund other aid groups who are already active in the area where the aid is needed. We are also open to collaborative efforts with other aid organizations for long term aid projects.

What Will ORDA Do With Your Donation
The donated money will go towards necessities that numerous families require food items such as bags of rice, dates, chicken, oil, sugar and clean water. We will also provide health care essentials to Afghans including; protective face masks and hand sanitizers. 

In this holy and blessed month of Ramadan, especially the last 10 days, help support those in need.  Your donation will help make a difference in the lives of Afghan people.
