Running for Jai

Donation protected
Jai was born with a condition called Bethlem Myopathy in 2014. It is a rare congenital muscular dystrophy which affects muscle growth mainly in his arms and legs, meaning he struggles with simple tasks such as walking, running, going up and down stairs and getting up from a sitting position. It also results in frequent falls. There is no cure and little is known about the condition.

He is an amazing little boy who takes everything that life has thrown at him in his stride, showing a huge amount of determination and resilience. He is now a gorgeous 3 ½ year old whose cheeky smile and fun-loving personality wins over everyone he meets.

Jai will need extra support, treatment, equipment for the rest of his life. The Schubert’s are a family that give so much more then they ever receive. Last year they raised over $10,000 dollars running for ‘Rocky Bay’ a place that helps children with disabilities.

A group of friends that love this family have put together a team and have registered ourselves in this years HBF 12km run for a reason. Jai is our reason. Our hope is that we can raise a little bit of money to help out in some small way with whatever Jai may need in the future.

If you would like to donate to inspire us to run faster but most of all to help out our little mate, please go to the link and give what you can. If you would like to join team ‘bum shufflers’ on the actual run send me an email at [email redacted] and you  will receive an exclusive invite to register.
