Running 100km in May for Action for Children!

Along with many other heartbreaking impacts of coronavirus, police call-outs for domestic violence have increased by 25%. People aren't able to escape their abusers through school or work, putting them in even more danger than normal. As well as this, many thousands of families have lost their jobs and their income and are struggling to put food on the table. That's why I want to raise money for Action for Children, a charity that aims to free kids from domestic abuse and help families who are struggling to feed their children.

I am going to be running 100km in the month of May to raise money for this fantastic charity. A big challenge for someone with as little legs as me! I would be very grateful for anyone who would be willing to support me and Action for Children!

Every child deserves to have a safe childhood, free from abuse and neglect. Your childhood experiences never leave you and can impact the quality of your whole life. As well as the obvious, harrowing immediate effects of abuse, child victims are far more likely to become homeless and suffer from chronic and severe mental health problems.

The use of food banks has increased by 19% during quarantine. Despite their best efforts, some families simply cannot feed their children, and I can't even begin to imagine how scary that must be.

Let's give these kids and families the best chance of getting back on track to living happy, healthy lives.
