Run to End Gun Violence: Help raise $100 per mile

Hi there! Thanks for taking a second to help end gun violence!

In 2023, together we raised $100/mile at a half marathon for the amazing organization March for our Lives. Since then, more than 27,000 more kids have experienced gun violence JUST at school. Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens (ages 1 to 19) in the United States. Every year, nearly 22,000 children and teens are shot and killed or wounded and approximately 3 million are exposed to gun violence. This year, I plan to run the Maine coast marathon and would love for us to raise $100/mile again to help end gun violence. Kids deserve better!

Born out of a tragic school shooting, March For Our Lives is a courageous youth-led movement dedicated to promoting civic engagement, education, and direct action by youth to eliminate the epidemic of gun violence.

Reasons I care about this organization and urge you to help fight for common sense gun laws and responsible gun ownership:

-383,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine

-Guns are the #1 killer of kids, more than car accidents and cancer

-Every day, 125 Americans are killed with guns and more than 200 are shot and wounded

-The US gun homicide rate is 26 times that of other high-income countries

-59 percent of American adults or someone they know or care about have experienced gun violence in their lifetime

-Approximately three million American children witness gun violence every year

Unfortunately, these are only a few of the many statistics that demonstrate why we need to address gun control in the U.S.
