Run, Sam, Run! BLM Charity Challenge
Donation protected
UPDATE - JULY 13, 2020 - Thanks to everyone's generous donations, we've raised $1,420!!! I finished first in my BLM Charity Run Challenge and put in 152.4 miles, putting me in first place (60 mile lead ahead of 2nd place). However, I plan on running to 200 miles by June 21, 2020, a month after I started. Additionally, a colleague at Apple is helping match the money I raise, so my goal is now $1,500 to effectively turn it into $3,000!!! Thank you all for your support!
My friend Ryan Avigne-Kennedy inspired me to turn my goals as an athlete to bring about real change, noting that accomplishments of all shapes and sizes can be used to make a substantial difference.
Joules for Justice is a non-profit organization started by Ryan that helps to raise awareness for racial inequity and facilitates the transfer of fundraising dollars to various organizations that fight the numerous injustices that plague the United States.
Thanks to Ryan and Joules for Justice, I’ve decided to donate $1 for every mile I run for our Black Lives Matter Nike Run Challenge.
All money that I raise from the Black Lives Matter Nike Run Challenge will be distributed between Race Forward, Joules for Justice (going towards NAACP), and the Harlem Academy! Thank you so much for your support. Take care!
