The mind is running

Tax deductible
Mike and I have set each other a challenge, or should I say are challenging each other.
We've decided to see who can run the furthest in January, no miles set, just a challenge between us both. *Work steps aren't included*
We are doing this for our own benefit, but also for our mental health.
2020 has seen a lot of people suffer from the effects of COVID 19, both physically and mentally.

For those who have had to work throughout it, facing the public and the daily fears and anxiety of bringing COVID home, for those working from home, between the same four walls, not seeing a colleague or having a 2 minute chat is no doubt very lonely. For those who are self employed, losing business and jobs.
For those who have had to try and entertain a toddler, or teach a child whilst working from home, send their child to a school hub to be able to serve their communities.
For those who have had babies during this pandemic, attending appointments alone, some birthing alone and not having the maternity leave that has been longed for.
For those who can't see family because of shielding, living too far away so the journey isn't essential. For those who have cared for so many families during COVID 19 too!
For those who have had life events and celebrations cancelled, lives re-arranged and living with the reality of “but when ...?’
For those who have lost loved ones alone: who’ve been neglected the chance to hold a hand in comfort, to visit in the final hours, to attend funerals, those who’ve been forced to line the street to say goodbye.
For those plagued with loneliness, separated from families and friends for months on end. Those who ate Christmas dinner alone, petrified of catching this terrible disease and so sacrificed their chance at company to protect themselves, and others.
No matter your circumstance: rich or poor, young or old, we have all suffered in the face of COVID-19.

We are raising awareness for MIND charity.
For me returning back to work during a pandemic and pushing my fear of dying to the back of my mind brought its own stress. However, we have been fortunate enough that during all this hardship, our little family has kept us going but we recognise that not everyone has had that fortune.
We recognise how important it is to talk, to recognise you may need help in the darkest of times and MIND charity offers that in abundance.
