On 13th January 2025, our daughter Bella was born at 23+0 weeks weighing just 650g. Her arrival was very sudden and still to this day we do not know why she was born so early.
A few hours after birth once Bella was stable, we were taken to Southmead hospital where we spent 3 weeks. Bella went into cardiac arrest multiple times during the first night of her life, which unfortunately resulted in a grade 4 bleed on the brain. The bleed caused Bella’s ventricles to increase in size, meaning we needed to be moved to St Michael’s Hospital as Bella required brain surgery. We spent a further 10.5 weeks at St Michael’s and were very kindly looked after by the fantastic Cots for Tots charity. They provided us with accommodation directly opposite the hospital which we could not have been anymore grateful for.
Our whole experience would have been completely different without Cots for Tots. They truly made a terrifying experience just that little bit easier by giving us a home away from home at such an uncertain time of our lives.
Cots for Tots survives off charity funding, therefore we would absolutely love to give back and help future families who may sadly be in the same position as we were.
We’d be extremely grateful for any donations towards this amazing charity. Thank you in advance!
