Help us save our Family Pet

My name is Desiree Smith and I am creating this GoFundMe for our family pet who was tragically involved in a hit and run on 06/07/25. He was accidentally let out of the house by our 9-year-old daughter and was able to squeeze through an opening in our front fence. We immediately went out to the street to begin looking for him. We drove about half a mile down, calling his name, and turned around to check the opposite direction when we noticed a car with their hazard lights. We pulled up to them, hoping that they had found our puppy, but got the devastating news that they had seen a white truck hit him, slow down, then keep driving down Blossom Valley Road. We found our baby laying on the side of the road, cut open from the hit. We wrapped him in a towel and rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital 30 mins away from us. After hours of observation and X-rays, they let us know that he has numerous abrasions that will require care and his left femur is fractured and will require surgery. We were approved for a $5,000 credit, but the remaining balance of about $10,000 is why we are creating this GoFundMe in hopes to save our puppy or hopefully get any additional information on the person who left our baby on the side of the road.
