Virgin Islands Hurricane Relief

My name is Lindsay Anderson, and Im raising money for my home of the US Virgin Islands. I loved there for 10 years of my life, made a name for myself as a successful captain, bought my first boat which became my first home, met the love of my life, there, and had our first child in St. Thomas. This is the first place I have ever called home-and they need our help now!!
The Virgin Islands has experienced their second Category 5 hurricane in 2 weeks and they are devastated!
I cannot even begin to explain how completely heartbroken I am for my island family and the place I call home.
There are broken boats, dismantled homes, power lines & poles, and other debris everywhere and these are now going to become extremely dangerous projectiles as this second storm rolls through.
FEMA, Red Cross and the Fed's are gone!! The islanders are riding out another catastrophic storm, but this time they are no where near prepared as the island was decimated last week.
To give you an idea- roofs are now tarps, and people have been waiting up to 5 hours to get gas, food/water!
Tensions are high, people are exhausted, heartbroken and now terrified for another disaster. These are the US Virgin Islands- America's Paradise ❤
They WILL make it, but it is our duty to help them in every single way we can once they come out on the other side of hurricane maria.
Every cent I raise from this gofundme (minus gofundme fees) is going straight to the friends of mine/companies in the Virgin Islands who are purchasing and delivering supplies for the people of the Virgin Islands. I will be splitting up donations to help with Adopt-a Family (St thomas family resource center), I will be sending direct donations to my close friend at Caribbean Sea Adventures in St. Croix to help the people on the ground with what is needed, and if there is anything left, I will be using the funds for Red Cross specifically for the caribbean.
I will be withdrawing funds to my paypal, and getting recipets for the goods and boxes I mail to families in st thomas, and recipets for the money I donate.
Even $1 can buy someone a bottle of clean drinking water, so every little bit helps!
CALL the companies that you work for to donate, set up donations boxes, donate to this or another gofundme or other fundraiser for supplies (make sure it's legit!) call your elected official-these people are terrified and they desperately need our help!
If nothing else, please pray/send love/positive thoughts to the people and animals in the Virgin islands- that itself will help immensely!!
