Roxanne’s Journey to Iowa Wrestling Camp 2025

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Kate, and my wonderful daughter is Roxanne. This fundraiser is for her. I’m seeking help from my community to help get her to University of Iowa for a girls wrestling camp this summer. This is an amazing opportunity for her to grow in this sport and will propel her into the next level. The funds will cover part of her registration fee, gear and airline/shuttle expenses.

Roxanne started wrestling about a year and a half ago and quickly fell in love with the sport. This year, as a freshman in high school, she is on the Girl’s Varsity team. Every day Roxanne practices anywhere from 2-4 hours inbetween her high school program and club wrestling. Then our weekends are filled with wrestling tournaments. She has been placing at all her high school meets so far and is about to go to State Championships. Her big girl dreams consist of getting accepted into University of Iowa for wrestling and competing in the Olympics. Outside of being a wrestler, Roxanne also has straight A’s in school, does Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and dedicates time to strength and conditioning exercise to help her perform better in sports. I’m so beyond proud of her and the work ethic she shows me every day.

I do my best to keep up with all the demands that come with having a teenage daughter, wrestling and any other activities she’s involved in, but I am in need of some help for this upcoming adventure. I have been a single mom for the entirety of Roxanne’s life. I am currently enrolled in full time/in person school and also working. I have had to cut some of my hours at work to accommodate school, so resources are limited. Receiving help during this time would be life changing for Roxanne and I.
