Row Alabama is a 501c3 with a mission to introduce the sport of rowing to youths age 14-20, and accomplish the following:
1. Give kids of any socioeconomic status the opportunity to participate in a team sport.
2. Keep at-risk kids occupied with an activity that requires discipline, concentration, physical exertion, and most importantly, team work and a personal commitment -- all essential life skills!
3. Give non-star athletes, and even children with disabilities an opportunity to participate in a sport that can be done by people of all skill levels.
4. Share our beautiful Black Warrior River with our citizens.
Some of our participants may gain the opportunity to receive college athletic scholarships (primarily females under Title IX).
The City of Tuscaloosa has graciously allowed us access to a boat yard at Riverview Boat Landing. Many local businesses have agreed to donate supplies, equipment, time, and labor to help us refurbish our boats, clean up our boat yard, and build a dock at our landing.
But we need money to make these goals a reality! Will you help us? Donate now and help make a difference in the lives of our kids!
