Suicide & Co and Search Dogs - Route 66 Challenge

Hi, I'm Linzi.....sister (and only sibling) of Stuart who died by suicide in June 2020 during the pandemic lockdown. My brother always wanted to complete Route 66 across America but sadly will never get that chance. So, I'm doing a virtual challenge for him on my Peloton bike, as well as walking and other activities. It's a huge 2,280 miles on the Conqueror Challenge App and I've only achieved about 300 miles so far.......

To help with motivation, I'm racing against another suicide loss survivor who is about 100 miles ahead! I've recruited the help of some friends to help add the miles but we are still behind!!

So, I'm reaching out in the hope that if I know I'm raising funds for charity, then this will give me a boost and get me moving faster.

Both charities are in much need of funds:

Search Dogs Sussex are part of Lowland Rescue, providing urgent human and dog power to find vulnerable missing persons. All team members are volunteers and give up their time, day and night, in all weathers to help search and bring back home our loved ones. Darren and his incredible springer spaniel, Millie, together with team mate Liam, found my brother after he sadly passed away in Ashdown Forest. If it wasn't for them and their fellow search team members of Sussex Search & Rescue, my brother could still be a missing person.

Suicide & Co are a fairly new charity providing much needed support to those bereaved by suicide loss. They provide counselling, a helpline and resources. They strongly believe in the power of conversation and use a variety of initiatives to spark conversations and encourage open dialogues around bereavement from suicide and mental health more generally. As an Ambassador for Suicide & Co and because I've spoken very publically about my own grief journey (and continue to do so), I fully support their mission.

Please help me to reach my target of £2,280 (that's £1 per mile) and I will split the donations equally between both incredible charities.
