Bonjour, friends and family! And thanks for dropping by.
Our story starts in the small community of Gonaives, Haiti. In this community is both a simple need, and a way we believe we can meet it.
The need:
A lack of funds for the education of young minds.
The solution:
Willing hands of strong mothers.
On June 23, 2014 our team of 5 will embark on a two week journey to Gonaives, Haiti to launch a sewing workshop, for approximately 30 women. In return for enrolling in this class, these mothers will be able to send their children to school - providing each child with a priceless gift we all too often take for granted here.
Our vision for the workshop is to empower the women of Gonaives with not only a lifelong skill, but with a means of income, by selling the garments they make here in the United States, and in Haitian markets. 100% of the proceeds we make will go toward purchasing more supplies and fabric, purchasing well-balanced meals for each young student through The Rosemila Project, and providing each seamstress with a salary.
At the core, we wish to see purpose, empowerment, strength, and self-sustainabilty come out of this workshop.
But we will never make this happen without your help! We need to raise $4000 by June 16th, one week before we leave. This money will go toward covering 2 different needs:
1. Purchasing fabric and supplies for the workshop
2. Checking boxes of sewing machines, supplies, and donations on the plane
Donate here financially, and contact Angeline at [email redacted] with any questions. Whether it's $5 or $500, each gift is unexplainably appreciated. We firlmly believe that God will use each dollar to stretch leaps and bounds.
However, above all, we ask you to pray that God would move, and that He would bless our travels and allow us to be a part of His kingdom work that is already unfolding in Haiti.
By donating, you do more than simply fund our vision. You are the vehicle through which God's work can be done, you enable capable women to provide for their familes, and you adorn God's children with immense beauty.
