On Christmas Eve 2015, our dear friend Rose Crites was diagnosed with stage 3 Clear Cell Carcinoma, an extremely agressive form of ovarian cancer.

Determined to triumph in the face of adversity, Rose underwent surgery and bravely began 18 weeks of chemotherapy.  On June 23, just a week after completing chemo, the Crites Family learned that the chemo was ineffective and the cancer had returned and spread to her liver, bladder, and abdomen. Unfortunately, the cancer is terminal and there is nothing else her doctor at Kaiser could do for her.  

Unwilling to give up, Rose relocated to Boston last week to see if she qualifies for clinical trials at the esteemed Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  While they have some studies that she may qualify for based on her type of cancer, the costs to participate in the trials are very, very high.  The first appointment just to be seen at Dana Farber for clinical trial consideration is $5,000.  

The Crites Family is preparing themselves to shoulder this burden, but many friends and family have expressed the desire to help contribute to their medical expenses as a way to show our collective support for Rose, Tim and little Sebastian.
