STAB HIS HEART EXPENSES Ronny Fritz

Ronny, his wife Kerry, and their 6 kids (ages 17, 15, 13, 10, 8, and 3) travelled to see his parents for a long Fourth of July weekend.


On July 2, 2017, Ronny and Kerry went to Lowe's. Ronny saw a Lowe's employee being assualted in an altercation with an alleged shoplifter and went to assist with another good samaritan. The man pulled a knife and stabbed Ronny in the arm and heart. Upon arrival at the ER he went immediately in for heart surgery to repair the damage. 

Ronny has miraculously survived surgery! His heart and most organs are responding well after the trauma. His congenital respiratory issues have lead to an infection trying to take root in his lungs as a result of the trauma/treatment. He is still in ICU, but aggressive treatment of his lungs will see him recovering in a normal room soon.  

Recovering body, mind, and soul will be a long process for Ronny, Kerry, and the kids. His family relies on him to be the finacial support, while Kerry secures their daily well-being.

Never being victims of a violent crime, they can't foresee the costs, material and otherwise, in the future. What is known is that Ronny will be prohibited from working for a matter of weeks while he is recovering. He will require a variety of therapies to help keep him strong for the future.

In addition to not working, Ronny and Kerry are not at home to see to day-to-day matters. They will need to travel to their residence, but there's no news on how soon that might be. Because they live in a small town, he will have to travel to make medical appointments once he is safely home. 

And then there is the time lost to legal action once the man involved is arrested and brought to justice. Ronny must take days off work and travel back to his parents' home town for interviews, despositions, witness statements, and court hearings.

Travel (fuel and maintenance, no air travel)
