Ronald McDonald House & Birmingham Children's Hos

Chris McKenna and Gerry Higgins are taking on the 4/4/48 challenge starting on Friday 4th August. This means we are running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours which is a total of 48 miles. 

We are doing this to raise money for Birmingham Childrens Hospital and Ronald McDonald House as a thank you for the care and support they offered when we needed it most. 

Chris' wee girl Hope was born with a congenital heart condition. When she was 2 days old she was flown from Glasgow to Birmingham Children's Hospital for life saving surgery.

The care provided by everyone in the hospital was incredible and we couldn't be more thankful to them. It has allowed us to have a very special summer as a family of 4, something we never thought would be possible.

Throughout our 8 weeks in Birmingham we were able to stay at Ronald McDonald House which allowed us to bring our 2 year old son down at weekends so that we could try to have some family time with him. Without Ronald McDonald we'd have been reliant on hotels and spent a fortune but instead we had a comfortable place to stay, a place to hang out as a family and all for no cost. Can't put a price on this support to families like ours at a very difficult time.

Chris has already completed 500km in 30 days this summer as part of our fundraising efforts.

All money raised will be split 50/50 between these 2 wonderful charities so that they can continue to do their great work.
