Ron Hamilton's Care

Donation protected

Ron Hamilton has been known for many years as Patch the Pirate. He has impacted many, many lives with his music and testimony for Christ. His life work has been all about giving to others and now is a time that we can give back to him. If Ron has blessed your life or the lives of your children, we ask that you consider a small gift to help with his care. Ron has suffered with FTD or frontal temporal dementia for over ten years. Shelly has been caring for him at home up until this point along with the aid of healthcare nurses.

I am sure that many of you read how Shelly lost approximately 47k that she had personally paid to a home healthcare company in good faith. This company believed they were licensed by a parent company when they were not. On May 18, after four and a half months of Shelly paying for Ron’s care out of pocket, the insurance company discovered the home-health care issues and would not reimburse Shelly. Although this was not a mistake on Shelly’s part, it has caused additional emotional stress. Long term insurance has not been a possibility for Ron due to the time of application, as he was already diagnosed.

Shelly feels that she can no longer adequately care for Ron at home. She has chosen to put him in the Pendleton Manor Assisted Living facility near to where she lives. They can handle his personal care freeing Shelly from this heavy responsibility. This expense plus the loss of insurance funds has been devastating, although we know our God is in control.

Many have requested that a Go Fund Me account be established to help with reimbursing the lost funds and for Ron's ongoing care. Therefore, we want this account to enable many to share in this burden. The monies will be put into an oversight account which is being set up to dispense the funds as necessary.

We, Tom and Sarah Bennett, are lifelong friends and were neighbors of Ron and Shelly for many years. We have been directors of Mission for Haiti and are experienced in handling donations. Because we believe in this cause so fervently, we are opening the account with a $500 donation, but no amount is too small. We know that God blesses those who give and the amount is inconsequential. We desire to give Shelly as much emotional and financial support as possible. You can be assured that 100% will go directly to Ron’s care. We know your help will be a great blessing to the Hamilton family.
