Roger Pott Memorial

Spende geschützt
In December of 2019, our community lost a devoted servant.  Our friend, Roger Pott (74 years, young), died of multiple myeloma cancer.  He underwent several treatments, including chemotherapy, while doing his best to work at his auto shop every day and tend to the needs of his children and grandchildren.  Even with all the odds working against him, he continued to tirelessly work to keep our kids athletic association (MHAA) afloat.  Some of the many things he did for the association was find and prepare ball fields for safe play; umpire the games; stock and run the concession stand (along with his late wife, Cathy); register teams and much more, behind the scenes.  He put his heart and soul into making sure our kids had the opportunity to play sports (especially baseball/softball) for over 40+ years!  This gentle, kind man lived a life doing and caring for others. Now, we want to honor him and all the effort he put forth for our children.

Our group would like to create a memorial, in his name, on the fields he worked so hard to prepare and the kids he loved and served.  First, we want to get memorial stones with engraved plates recognizing Rogers serve to the community on two different field areas with signage naming the field(s) "Roger Pott Memorial Fields". It was important to him that all children who wanted to play sports had the chance to have that opportunity.  He often times put up his own hard earned money  to pay for family fees and equipment .  Secondly, and most importantly, we hope to continue his legacy by setting up a sports scholarship to assist needy families with the fees and equipment they need to play-which is what Roger would really appreciate.

We hope to collect enough donations to celebrate the placing of the memorial stones/signs around opening day- mid April.  We would be grateful for any and all donations to help support this honor.

This "angel" that was placed on this earth will be greatly missed.  We want those in this community to remember how lucky we were to have someone so dedicated to our kids.  Hopefully, through this memorial, it will lead others to believe that kindness, selflessness and commitment are truly character traits we want to pass along to our children and the future of our organization.
