Rockbridge County Schools Meal Debt Relief

Background
Student meal debt is a nationwide epidemic affecting everyone, including many families here in our own community. For hundreds of local kids these school meals are a critical source of nutrition and in some cases, the only truly reliable meal of the day.
School food service programs do not receive funding through the general fund of the local school system budget. All funding for the program comes from local school sales, state reimbursement and federal reimbursement for meals served to students who qualify for meal benefits. Unfortunately, many families that need help fall outside of the requirements to receive meal benefits. The school system receives very little federal funding to assist in these cases.
Research studies show that well-nourished students are more focused and better prepared to learn. Rockbridge County Public Schools never denies any student a hot meal regardless of a family's ability to purchase a meal. Because of this commitment to student health and the fact that not all families have the means to purchase, significant debts can be incurred.
Mission/Goal
ParknPool Corporation will spearhead a campaign to raise $39,000 to eradicate all student meal debt currently on the books with Rockbridge County Schools School Nutrition Program. The campaign will target all businesses and individuals located in the county. Target date for completion is March 1st, 2020.
How to help
1. Please GIVE what you can. No donation is too small. When you donate, 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Rockbridge County Public Schools School Nutrition Services. A portion of the fees (the percentage that GoFundMe takes out) will be covered by my business, ParknPool Corporation.
