Robert's Trip to Rwanda
Donation protected
This summer I have been given the exciting opportunity to serve at the Ndengera Foundation in Rwanda Africa. I was presented with this opportunity while working at JH Ranch this past summer when I met Dr. Chris Finley who is the founder of this mission. Dr. Finley is a practicing emergency medicine doctor in Vancouver Washington. He takes annual trips to serve at the Ndengera foundation and will likely be there with me for part of my time this summer.
Ever since I went on a mission trip to Haiti in the summer of 2016, I have had the desire to pursue a career path of medical mission work. During this trip, my eyes were opened to the needs of not just the Haitian people, but people across the globe. I am currently a Sophomore at Wofford college in Spartanburg South Carolina and I am on the Pre-Med track as a Chemistry major.
The Ndengera Foundation is located in Gisenyi, Rwanda Africa which is in the North Western Region of the country. Along with providing educational opportunities and specialized job training for the Rwandan people, the Foundation offers medical care. Recently, a maternity care/birthing facility has been added. The new maternity care facility will be where I will be primarily serving.
My goal is to touch as many lives as possible while also embracing the love of the beautiful people of Rwanda during my summer at the Ndengera foundation. I am planning on serving in Rwanda from early June to the middle of August and will be staying with a local pastor and his family while there.
