Robert Funeral Memorial Fundraising
On the morning of Monday, March 8, 2021, my father Roberto Ramos (Robert) was at the Kennedy Plaza bus station in Providence RI, as he used to do every morning for the last 31 years to go to work, and he was found on the ground unconscious, a good samaritan proceeded to call for rescue, my dad spent approximately 10 minutes without receiving oxygen, this time was estimated from the time he was unconscious vs the time it took for the ambulance to arrive, they immediately proceeded to give first aid that lasted 30 minutes on the way to the nearest hospital, (the Rhode Island Hospital), where they could revive him and he immediately went into a coma. We will never know the exact time that my dad was unconscious and without receiving oxygen in his organs. My dad was diagnosed with a cardiac arrest, the damage was so severe that it caused brain death and immediately some of his organs stopped working like his kidneys. Since then he has been in the hospital where he underwent an extensive examination, to see if there was the possibility of any change or improvement over the days. Unfortunately there were no changes that gave me hope of some improvement, his body was deteriorating rapidly and his vital organs began to stop working. His arms were swollen and his blood was no longer circulating. Only machines could keep him alive and if a miracle happened he would live like a vegetable due to the lack of brain activity. Doctors gave him little chance of life. And I know with the deepest of my heart that my father would not have wanted to live like this. I had to make the biggest and most painful decision to disconnect my Dad so that he could rest in Peace. You are never prepared to say bye to a man who was so happy, healthy, full of life and hardworking, you’re never prepared for such of great loss. A father a friend who never said NO to anyone who never complained about the life God chose for him. Given the covid19 situation, visitors or family members were not allowed to enter at the time this decision was made, I know that my dad was very loved by his friends, family and work colleagues and musicians friends and how he loved to play his trumpet. It is for this reason that I want to be able to say my last goodbye since I was his only daughter, to give my Dad the Memorial he deserves, to give my family, his friends and grandchildren’s, the opportunity as well. But I need help paying for the funeral expenses that are estimated at $ 5,000. I would never forgive myself for not being able to give my Father a well deserved Funeral or at least trying to do so with your help. It does not matter how large the amount is, everything will be well received and appreciated. May God multiplies your help. Always hold your loved ones always tell them how much you love them because today it is my turn but tomorrow may surprise another person. God bless you.
