Robert Cox medical fund

Beschermde donatie
Yesterday we spent our day impatiently waiting and praying for good news from Robert’s mri. We didn’t get the news we were hoping for.

A year and a half or so ago Robert started going to his doctor for growing back pain. Each time he went he was put aside. Recently he was sent to a back specialist who also put him aside and just pushed for physical therapy. We felt hopeless.

Within the last month, Robert has had growing nerve problems causing many issues throughout his back and lower extremities. He decided to go back to the doctor Wednesday. She listened this time due to his growing problems and ordered a stat mri. After the radiologist reviewed his results, they urged his doctor to order another stat mri but this time of his entire back. What we didn’t know then was that the radiologist saw what really conceded him. After Robert went in for his second mri we waited for what seemed like ages for the phone call to come explaining the second mri. It finally came. Instead of an over the phone conversation, his doctor requested that we both come in to her office to talk. Last night we learned that Robert has what the radiologist thinks is an ependymoma tumor in his spine. This tumor has a cyst on top and on bottom which is why they believe it is this type of tumor. It equals out to 12cm long. It is damaging the nerves through his lower spine.

His doctor had never heard of this tumor before but was told by the radiologist that it is fairly common and very dangerous if not immediately removed. She therefor wasn’t able to answer any questions. Robert is scheduled to see a neurologist at the beginning of next week to have it removed as fast as they can. At this time we are under the impression that we don’t have time for a biopsy. This tumor has the ability to forever ruin his nerves if it hasn’t already. Robert has been taken off of work until we hear from the neurologist next week because they are worried that any strenuous activity will fully damage nerves. We are unsure if this tumor is cancerous or not.

We are anxious and upset but know that God has everything in his hands. We are so thankful for the love and support we have received from everyone. You are our tribe and we will never be able to express our gratitude and appreciation we have for each of you. As of now, we ask that everyone keep Robert in their prayers for the days to come. This is all happening very quickly for something that we never expected. Love you all.
