Rob Wilkinson Fundraiser

Help Rob Wilkinson conquer his Cancer battle.

My name is Darryn Murphy,

I work within the horse racing industry and I’m passionate about the the thoroughbreds and I’m close with all participants.

Recently I was shocked and saddened to hear that highly regarded racehorse trainer and friend, Rob Wilkinson, had been diagnosed with Prostate cancer. The removal of the prostate is required in the hope that the cancer can be nullified, and many operations and ongoing treatment is required which also burdens a lot of expense.

To support Rob in his quest I am planning a lone cycling ride 26th January (Australia Day) from Morphettville to Murray Bridge, (Rob’s hometown) to help raise funds for Rob, his partner Kym, and siblings Mike and Khiarah.

Rob has been very supporting to his family, whom help run his training business and currently his daughter Khiarah is undertaking a qualification certificate 111 track rider as a requirement that one day may see Khiarah fulfil her dreams to be an apprentice jockey and son Mike is an aspiring young footballer with many accolades already, hoping to one day make into into the AFL league.

With Rob’s illness comes unfortunate difficulties to support not only partner Kim, Mike and Khiarah, but also makes it difficult with the day to day running of a business that has been a lifelong career and years of dedicated hard work.

Myself not without my challenges throughout my career & life have always been humbled by the amazing support within the industry when I most needed it and I would dearly love if the racing community could band together to SUPPORT and DONATE to my ‘Morphy to Murray Bridge Cycle’ to raise much needed funds to assist Rob and his family in this time of need and help keep the dreams alive for Mike and Khiarahs ambition’s…
