RIZE HIP HOP DANCE PROGRAM

RIZE is a youth arts organization in Reading, Pennsylvania. It fosters the arts to promote a healthy lifestyle, striving to unite our culturally diverse communities by strengthening families for social change and to create art programs and policy initiatives that support families and youth. RIZE serves Reading inner-city youth and youth from surrounding areas.

RIZE operates on the premise that dance is a powerful tool to promote mental wellness. Children are natural movers. Thus dance offers a non-threatening and inviting way for them to express themselves. Through dance, RIZE assists youth in exploring their self-awareness, self-confidence, emotional regulation, empathy, and social skills. HIP HOP dance has been proven to use large-motor play, physical education, nonverbal communication, and problem-solving skills with individuals and groups of children. HIP HOP dance helps RIZE youth face adversity, challenges, and opportunities in our community. RIZE strives to involve parents, other guardians, siblings and grandparents.

Our Fundraiser will cover Rental space at Goggleworks, Fees for RIZE local dance instructors and RIZE Facilitators.
