Hello all, I am posting in need!
I have just signed up for Ride for the Feast, a 140 mi., two day, fundraising bike ride from Ocean City to Baltimore. The event is being put on by Moveable Feast, which is an organization that focuses on not only preparing nutritious meals, but also delivering meals to men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and other terminal illnesses at no cost. Moveable Feast's recipients span from the Eastern Shore, all the way up to our very own community in Baltimore. Their reach and role in both our community, and throughout our state would be nothing without the people who donate time, money, and other resources to advocate for those who can't.
Let's be honest, treating a terminal illness is neither cheap nor easy to do in anyway. Having said that, it truly hits home when one considers the fact that people from our own community have to choose between medical treatment and eating. All monies raised MUST be turned over to Moveable Feast by MAY 4th. This gives me exactly 79 days to reach my goal. Because the odds are not in my favor, I'm turning to you the public, to help me do my part.
Any donation of any amount is enormously appreciated. This is my first time fundraising on behalf of a non-profit organization, and it would be extremely gratifying to be able to reach my goal of $1,500. So please consider doing your part to benefit those in our own community.
