Ride for Anthony

Donation protected
Imagine your loved one leaves for work as usual on a Monday morning and never comes home . Imagine that call "sorry your loved one has passed away " . Anthony was 48 and suffered a cardiac arrest whilst at work, despite best efforts from his work colleagues, paramedics and expert attempts from NORTHWEST AIR AMBULANCE (NWAA), his heart couldn't be restarted, Anthony was gone .
Anthony had a heart condition called cardiomyopathy, he was informed it was mild and was discharged by his cardiologist on his last consultation. He was fit & healthy and although he wasn't a gym fan he was very active. He has left behind a wife, Michelle & two amazing sons, Jacob 19 & Ben 16 who miss him deeply. His life revolved around his family & friends, his funeral was attended by over 250 people with standing room only.
He supported many charities in particular ( NWAA), his brother Rob is a active cyclist & has taken part in numerous charity bike rides helping raise £1000s, on most occasions Anthony would meet him at the finish line. Rob not only lost his brother that day but his best friend . Over a year has gone by and the world has carried on turning without him, through his grief & devastation, Rob felt he needed to organise a charity event in his memory.
So here we are, Rob along with 8 other family & friends will cycle over 350miles from England to Ireland. Their gruelling journey will see them travelling through the North of Ireland, continuing their journey to Kildare, Southern Ireland where Anthony's family originate from . They will leave Preston on the 30th June, returning safely on the 4th July.
ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE DONATED to our chosen charities in memory of " Anthony Talbot ".
(NWAA), flies life saving missions seven days a week, 365 days a year with a cost of £8m each year. Many critically ill patients would not survive without this amazing service, " they simply save lives". We have also chosen a 2nd charity to benefit from our event, CARDIAC RISK IN THE YOUNG, (CRY). Throughout the UK each week at least 12 fit & healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY's vision is preventing such deaths through awareness, screening, research & support. Awareness & support have been huge factors for us since Anthony's death. As a family we were unaware of the fact that Anthony's heart condition could be genetic. A simple painless electrocardiograph can identify most cardiac abnormalities, including cardiomyopathy.
CRY have been fundamental to our family & friends offering free heart screening during the past year, to date CRY has screened 210,000 young people between the ages of 14-35. All of CRY's screening & public events are predominantly held in the local community and are free to attend.

PLEASE DONATE: Any amount no matter how small to ensure that NWAA & CRY can continue saving lives, Anthony would be so proud , thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx
