Rick's Run

Rick Sokoloff was a man who truly made a mark on this world. He was kind, generous, humble
and very hardworking. He was the best father and husband anyone could ever dream of and he deserves to be honoured in the best way possible. He worked so hard throughout his entire life but did not forget to live and enjoy every single day. His positive attitude and presence made everyone gravitate towards him. Rick enjoyed fishing, boating, cottaging, BBQ'ing, but most of all, his family. He was a true friend and a true family man. He loved organizing charity events and always believed in giving back. Rick always had a way of turning a negative into a positive.
On February 19, (the day before his 59th birthday) Rick had a heart attack due to a blockage. Rick and his wife Kathy were on a layover in Tahiti, waiting to board their final flight to Bora Bora. Rick was rushed to the hospital and went to the ICU, but unfortunately passed away later that day. Rick's kids Jamie and Steve flew down on the next flight out to help his wife make arrangements. They got his body home and held a memorial service with over 600 people in attendance. Rick was truly loved and respected by everyone he met.
In Rick's honour, Jamie Sokoloff has organized "Rick's Run" to raise funds for the Heart and Stroke foundation. As we are in a time that we must all "socially distance" from each other, this run will be an individual run. On July 18th, at 10:00AM runners will run a 15KM run from a location of their choice.
Walkers are welcome as well!
