Rick Whisenhunt Memorial

Richard "Rick" Whisenhunt, who was born on September 19, 1957, sadly passed away on July 21, 2025, after enduring a catastrophic brain event. His battle with poor health made it difficult for him to secure life insurance, leaving his family in a challenging position as they face the burden of his funeral expenses during this difficult time.

Rick was so much more than a husband, father, and grandfather; he was a shining light of compassion and kindness in our lives. His dedication to helping others was evident in everything he did. As a proud Navy veteran, Rick devoted much of his time as a board member at the Morgan County Food Bank, where he shared his heart and time with those in need. He and his beloved wife, Netta Whisenhunt, worked together to uplift the community, volunteering at Quality Industries and the New Hope Group Home.

Rick's warm smile and infectious laughter had a unique ability to brighten the lives of those around him, offering hope to those who were struggling. He always knew just the right thing to say and if not he believed that most problems could be resolved with a good night’s rest. His caring nature and thoughtful words made everyone feel valued and appreciated. He touched the hearts of many and brought a positive perspective to a world that often felt heavy.

Quality time with his family was a priority for Rick, whether he was tackling small home projects or planning memorable trips for his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, including taking them to church on Sundays.

In his free time, you could often find him in his art studio sketching and woodworking.
