Richards Babies VS Medical Establishment

This is Gilbert Lewis Richards. 

He was born February 26, 2019 and is a great boy. Beautiful smile, isn’t it? He a has a great laugh, too. But most of all he has a bright future ahead of him. And I want to keep it that way.

When he was born, we had two insurances. One was through my employer, one was from my wife’s family. We figured whatever one didn’tcover, the other would and things financially would work out.

Except that the hospital system failed us. Though we had insurance, we couldn’t work out a coordination of benefits. We called and called and called the hospital system, the insurances, and tried to get things to work out.  It has been a never ending nightmare for the past year and a half.

Now we have thousands and thousands of dollars of bills for things that should have been covered. The medical bureaucracy is Hydra—once you think one problem is fixed and the head of the dragon is chopped off...another head/problem pops up. 

As a family and faithful Catholics, Gabrielle and I are open to life—no matter what. It is Gods gift to us but also to the world...we have to believe that because God has given us children, he will also give us the means to provide for them.

As of this writing, my wife is pregnant again. Our daughter Arwen Thérèse will be due October 16, 2020. I have insurance through my employer still. We are afraid that that the system will do us in again even though—for all intents and purposes—we have done everything right.

I am going to work faithfully with a job with decent benefits but it’s not enough. The benefits haven’t worked. And though I provide for my family, these bills are something I can’t afford...I need to be able to allocate finances towards rent, groceries, and actual day to day life. Unrealistic inflated- for -insurance amounts that the hospital charges are devastating.

Therefore I am asking for help. Anything that you could give will help us fight for our babies and a life with and for them ...and keep the medical establishment and its outrageous bills at bay. 

We don’t know what else to do. We ask that besides any donations you are able to provide, it is more important to us that you would gift us with your prayers. God made us a family and He will keep us a family. He will see us through this trial—no matter what.
