Rhythm on Ice: A Fundraiser for Skate Therapy

 My name is Sandhya Mahesh (age 14) and my sister is Tanya Mahesh (Age 12). We both study at Nolan Ryan Junior High in Pearland, TX. We have both been skating since the age of 3 and truly enjoy the sport. One of the coaches at the rink, Mrs. B.L.Wylie, started a therapeutic skating program called SkateTherapy that specifically caters to children with varying degrees of disabilities. This program has made a tremendous impact on the skaters and encouraged them to help these kids and give back to the community.

I volunteer as a coach in the program every Saturday morning  and I love it! While the SkateTherapy program is entirely supported by volunteers, there are many costs that need to be covered, such as:- Ice time, Adaptive equipment, Skates, etc. Over the years, the program has grown tremendously and we are catering to more students now than every before. 

We've teamed up with some of our very talented friends and the amazing choir at Marek Elementary to put together a charity concert that you can all attend and enjoy!
