Rhandie's Ride to Recovery!!

I want to start off by saying, thank you! It means a great deal to my family and me that anyone, possibly a stranger whom I have never met, would take the time to share my sister’s story.
As the oldest of four I think, for the most part anyway, that we want to be a positive influence in our siblings lives. I can’t exactly say what it was that made my sister Rhandie want to get a Harley Davidson motorcycle, but I can say that nothing was going to stop her once she decided to. I’d be a liar if I said I don’t partially feel responsible. If you’ve ever had the pleasure/displeasure of meeting Rhandie you would know that she has had a “biker” attitude long before she ever owned a Harley. A bit surly at times, but a genuine diamond in the rough who has always been there for her family. Which is why it’s with a sad heart I am writing this.
On Sunday September 8th, Rhandie was involved in a motorcycle accident in her home town of Bakersfield California. While merging onto the freeway she was struck by debris on the right side of her bike crushing her leg and nearly taking her foot. And by “debris” I mean an entire f@*king dresser left behind like a piece of garbage tossed from a car window. It’s because of someone’s careless, selfish and utter lack of respect for others that my sister is left fighting to keep the bottom half of her leg.
As of today, Tuesday September 11th, Rhandie has made the decision to undergo multiple surgeries in a city that is not her own. She has had two surgeries already, with a third scheduled for Friday. As a hairdresser Rhandie makes her living on her feet and current circumstances makes this impossible. Unfortunately, bills don’t stop because life has thrown you a curve ball and it’s because of this that I am reaching out to friends, family, the motorcycle community or anyone else who has ever been stuck in a situation that is far too large to take on by yourself.
ALL money raised will be used for medical treatment, bills and commuting expenses to help TEMPORARILY stall the stress of life while Rhandie can begin her long road to recovery. If all goes well on Friday’s surgery, she may begin her reconstructive surgeries in Los Angeles, California the following Friday.
