Reuniting with my family after 2yr due to COVID19

I have never reached out for help for anything in my 43 years. But right now, I am desperate.

 

For two years, my wife and I have been separated by 8000 miles due to COVID19. My wife's green card (even though I am a natural-born American) has been denied twice by immigration services. My wife and I have decided for me to return to her overseas. We will continue our never-ending quest through the biased and insane legal immigration process written by two massive nativists and bigots in the 1950's and became law or Truman's veto during the height of McCarthyism and the Red Scare.

 

I have my position overseas. I have all the paperwork. Now, the Chinese government has thrown us a curveball and demands that everyone overseas MUST take a direct flight to China (no layovers). If one does not take a direct flight, when one lands, they will not issue their "green" QR code clearance code and will not let you into the country.

 

The layover flight I initially found would cost me $850, and I had a layover in Taiwan. So my $850 one-way layover flight ticket has turned into a $4K - $9.5K flight depending on the beginning and ending airport.

 

As a teacher in a state with the lowest teacher pay in the country, I cannot do that. Taxes and involuntary pension account for 35% of my gross income gone before I see it, then I have bills and need to send money to my wife. I live pretty much paycheck to paycheck even while I go for my second master's degree.

 

Now China requires those that come into pay highly inflated direct flight fares,.

 

I am losing faith and everything I will ever see my wife again. It has been almost two years.

 

She can't come here, and if I can't get the airfare, I can't go there. China has all but priced my return to China out of my price range.

 

I am asking for help. Help me reunite with my wife after a two year separation that was no fault of our own.
