​Heaven Gained an Angel

​Our hearts are heavy as we share that God took Cheryl Grimslid home on December 25, 2025. After a brave battle with cancer, Cheryl passed away peacefully on Christmas Day. While our family is grieving this immense loss, we take comfort in knowing that heaven gained a very special angel that day.

​The Heart of Our Family

​Cheryl was the fierce matriarch of our family—a mother of 3, grandmother of 12, and great-grandmother of 9. She was loving, giving, loyal, and famously spunky. She lived life to the fullest and protected her family with the fierceness of a lion.

​Honoring Her Final Journey

​It was Cheryl’s wish to return to La Crosse to be laid to rest in the family plot. Most importantly, we want to bring her home so she can be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and the girls' father, Dennis, so they can be together once again.

​We—Angel Grimslid, Nicki Rockwell, Deni Grimslid, and the rest of our family—are asking for your help to cover the significant costs of her final arrangements and burial.
