My name is Franco Reyes, and I am a 17-year-old Filipino-American student with an innate desire to share my passion for music with the world, especially with those not fortunate to have the same financial freedom to create. In our journey to improve the funding of musical education in Philippine public schools, we must provide the evidence that it plays a substantial part in the development of a child's identity.
It also remains a key aspect of our culture; Filipinos pride themselves in artistic expression, especially through music. We must preserve this fact.
We must inspire the next Bruno Mars, Olivia Rodrigo, or Steve Lacy, (all of whom actually claim partial ethnicity to the Philippines!) and supply them with the tools to simply give it a shot.
In June, thanks to your donations, I personally delivered 8 guitars and 16 symphonic instruments to two Philippine schools, witnessing the impact that my vision has been able to achieve. Still, more work is needed to be done; the project doesn’t rest until every child is met with their creative needs. A classroom of guitars, say, may cost over $1000 or over ₱50,000.
Every contribution is greatly appreciated!
