Hello everyone,
We are the Anas family, a family of five from Gaza.
For the past 18 years, we have lived through war, fear, and destruction.
Before October 7th, our lives were peaceful and normal. My parents would head to work early each morning, I would go to university, and my younger brother and sister would attend school. We used to enjoy simple pleasures gatherings with friends, family outings, and the comfort of our home filled with memories and laughter.
But everything changed when the war began.
Our lives turned into a nightmare.
We lost everything our home, our belongings, our source of income, and most painfully, many of our friends and loved ones. Our memories were buried under the rubble of our destroyed house. Since then, we’ve been displaced, forced to move from one place to another from tents to temporary shelters never knowing where we’ll sleep next or what tomorrow will bring.
This was our home, before the war:

This was our home, after the war:

We believe that one day we will rebuild it, brick by brick.
But for now, we are struggling to survive.
Our journey of displacement began in Shuja'iya, in northern Gaza. Two days after the war started, we fled under heavy shelling. We moved to Zawaydeh, then to Deir al-Balah, and eventually to Rafah, where we endured two months of extreme hunger, thirst, and lack of the most basic necessities.
Later, due to the unbearable bombardment and extreme hunger in Rafah, my family was forced to flee Gaza and seek refuge in Egypt. It was not an easy decision we left behind everything, not knowing if we would ever return.
Now, my family is in Egypt, far from our homeland, carrying only pain, memories, and the hope of survival. Life is no longer the same. We are displaced, scattered, and broken. We have no home, no jobs, and no certainty about tomorrow.
Our family has been torn away from the life we once knew what was once familiar is now just a distant memory.
We didn’t choose this life of exile and suffering.
We were forced into it by war, destruction, and famine.
All we dream of now is safety, stability, and one day… a return to our home.
With all humility, I ask for your compassion and support.
Any help whether financial, moral, or simply sharing our story can make a huge difference. It gives us strength, hope, and the feeling that we are not alone in this world.
Please help us. Please stand with us. ☹️
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
