Our beloved oldest sister, La, some knew her as Kim, passed away on Wednesday, February 26th.
This tragic news is incredibly hard to bear as we just laid our oldest brother Leang to rest on Saturday, February 15th. Losing two siblings back to back has been devastating and everyone is trying their best to comfort our mother. With the loss of La, she lost two children this month.
We are raising funds for La's memorial expenses and to bring her back home from Texas, to be buried next to our brother, Leang. Funds will also go to fly her family home for the memorial services. Her husband, Dion Sr., is stricken with grief. We hope to have funds left over for her two young children, Dion Jr. (13) and Maiya (11). They will need lots of love and support as they face this life without their mother. It takes a village so please help us fundraise for the children. Nothing can ever replace a mother's love.
La was 38 years old. She was born on January 15,1982. She was a daughter, a wife, a mother of two, our oldest sister, and a friend to many. Growing up, everyone knew her as the sweet girl with the green birthmark on her nose. La loved singing Cambodian karaoke. She adored her children and loved being a mom.
She has been battling diabetes for 20 years and was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She lost this battle but she's no longer in pain. May she rest peacefully knowing her family, her two little ones, are loved and being taken care of.
