RESPONDER'S FIRST
Whole Community, Disaster AID

In the face of devastating catastrophic conditions worldwide, residents invariably step up to assist overwhelmed search and rescue efforts, principally during the initial stages of local search, rescue, and recovery. Often before big government and other humanitarian aid can marshal from away.

Please help us raise the first $50,000. Your donation, perhaps from a world away, is vital in bridging critical gaps in personal protection (PPE) and operational equipment, making these ad hoc local responders safer, more secure, and significantly more effective in often unbelievably hazardous conditions. Your funds will profoundly affect disaster response operations, reducing suffering and loss of life for victims, survivors, and those stand-ins who’ve stepped into the fray to respond.

Your donations are of strategic significance—the very backbone of this effort. Early funding enables us to stockpile selective personal gear to equip unprepared citizen volunteers for the extreme conditions thrust upon them. Long before local first-line resources become overwhelmed, we consult, source, network, and problem-solve for ready solutions for varying life-threatening disaster-level events to come. Your gift (whether in cash or shares) translates directly to better-equipping responders on the frontlines of significant earthquakes, mass flooding, storm surges, windstorms, wildfires, and armed conflict . . . to name a few.

So where on Mother Nature’s earth will our aid be embraced? That is, of course, a bit of an ongoing moving target to project in advance. We can be somewhat guided by what’s in our immediate past and what is forecasted to come. For example, by the epicentre of the most significant earthquake events around the world in the last 30 days. These are areas where local search, rescue, and recovery operations were likely overwhelmed, underscoring the need for direct aid prepared in advance.

• Magnitude 6.8 – Maug Islands region, Northern Mariana Islands
• Magnitude 7.4 – 18 km SSW of Hualien City, Taiwan
• Magnitude 6.4 – 11 km NE of Hualien City, Taiwan
• Magnitude 6.4 – Vanuatu region
• Magnitude 6.4 – 111 km N of Paciran, Indonesia
• Magnitude 6.9 – 38 km ENE of Ambunti, Papua New Guinea

In addition, for mass destructive humanitarian events to be attended to on this continent, just in the last 24 hours, a New York Times headline reads:

‘Alarming’ Ocean Temperatures Suggest This Hurricane Season Will Be a Daunting One. An early forecast from one set of experts sees an above-average hurricane season that may rival the busiest years on record.

As demonstrated, we are certainly not short on categories of humanitarian cataclysmic catastrophes across the planet to prepare for . . .

What cannot be overstated is the importance of securing funding before the next eventuality. It's about pre-sourcing the requisite gear and having it ready to drop ship for targeted deployment upon notice; it's about coordinating with local disaster operations as local events dictate. It's about having one’s ducks in a row logistically for delivery into a devastating, complex situation.

Furthermore, this is about mobilizing resources for unknown yet increasing eventualities, which are but a passing thought for much of the world's population. Let alone reducing significant personal risk for those fellow citizens willing to venture into harm's way to save others. This is about an ongoing whole–world community response.

Even with local budgeting for sudden-onset disasters, given the overwhelming size and scope of the required response, it is often, mostly, not enough. This makes your contribution invaluable on many levels. Gifting $10-15 helps—whatever is manageable. Cash donations, backlinking, and sharing on social media are all valuable ways to support this global outreach.
