resisterhoodLA Quarterly Hygiene Kit Events
Tax deductible
In 2017, resisterhoodLA launched our annual menstrual product drive: FLOWVEMBER, a family-friendly, gender-inclusive hygiene kit building event that combines hands-on volunteering and homelessness advocacy education.
Over the past 3 years, FLOWVEMBER has become our most popular and impactful event: In 2019, we welcomed 150 volunteers and assembled 1000 hygiene kits for SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition. These hygiene kits contain basic hygiene items that provide our neighbors experiencing homelessness with tools to maintain their health and sense of dignity. So, we decided to do it more often! For resisterhoodLA’s 4th year, we’ll be producing quarterly hygiene kit build events.
We are leaning into what we do best: thoughtfully curated volunteer events that connect and serve the community. We’ll focus on creating diverse, inclusive spaces accessible to everyone.
We’ll continue to focus on one cause: homelessness. By partnering with local non-profits doing direct outreach, and inviting people with lived experience to share their stories, we will give volunteers a comprehensive understanding of this issue and equip them to participate in local solutions.
In an effort to raise money for this project, we're starting an online fundraising campaign and hosting a community fundraiser on Saturday, May 9, with a goal of raising $18,400. I hope you’ll consider contributing to continue our work.
With gratitude,
