Help Build Studios & Project Space

Donation protected

Reservoir is a multipurpose studio and exhibition space located in Ridgewood, Queens, a neighborhood that borders Bushwick, Brooklyn. Reservoir is being created with the intent to provide artists with studios and exhibition opportunities. Reservoir will be a stabilizing force in an increasingly unstable market. We already have several tenants and exhibition projects lined up.

Your support will enable us to build-out a pre-existing 3000 square foot space located just blocks from the Myrtle L and Seneca M trains. The space has been leased, but we are looking for support for buildout costs - walls, lights, doors and ventilation fans. It is our plan to be up and running by mid - December 2014. We look forward to joining the growing Ridgewood Arts Community.

Joe Nanashe was born in Akron, Ohio. The city’s post-industrial landscape and his experience working in factories influenced the repetitive, task-driven nature of his work. The rust belt buildings became sites for exhibition, experimentation, and investigation, and influenced his movement to sculpture and time-based art. He received his BFA from the University of Akron in 2003, and his MFA from Rutger in 2005. His video works have been seen in multiple editions of the New York, Chicago, Lausanne, and Boston Underground Film Festivals. He has curated a number of exhibitions in Bushwick and Ridgewood that become multi-disciplinary experimental spaces of collaboration. Recently, his photography and sculpture have been on view at Garis & Hahn Gallery, Birnam Wood Galleries in New York City, Guest Spot in Baltimore, QF Gallery in East Hampton, 3331 Arts Chiyoda Tokyo. He has also exhibited in several national and international art fairs with Victori Contemporary, including Aqua Art Miami and Scope Basel.
